Country Pride was still in effect.
Now it is object pride (egotistically based – it is – we are!)

We have allowed (and even contributed to) the dilution of our country. All the while our government has had to grow larger to service, protect, and maintain these needs. Illegal immigrants are absorbing and further diluting our resources while avoiding contribution into the pot making it worse for all. Ponzi schemes and other financial and news/information rape-age by the “you know who’s” (look at ANY old country… continued/historical evidence of this is in their history too, unless you are afraid to look). Our children are growing with no guidance other than the latest reality TV show, MySpace blog, or addictive video game drawing our children into zombieland and forgetting what it feels like to play outside (where they might fall down and get a boo-boo). We all want “ours” forsaking “theirs”. This country used to be about society… saying hello to everyone, even strangers, down at the corner coffee shop and being greeted back with a smile. Men tipping their hats on the sidewalk as a lady walked past. Families eating together in the dining room every evening… bonding together, growing stronger as a family, communicating, and learning how to interact with people. The society bomb exploded decades ago with lingering and continued damage like that from a nuclear weapon.

The bank fiasco ~ our fault America. We demanded a home just like everyone else. Does not matter that in a few years we could have afforded it anyway with a little diligence… we wanted it now! So, we demanded “ways” of doing this… the government and banking world happily listened… voila! Weird mortgages that seem to explode at the worst time. This “way” trickled down into everything: TV’s, cars, etc. Credit/banking bombs. Like landmines, exploding everywhere, all around.

Now, our individual “net worth” is 20% lower. We are unemployed or working below our education “till things improve”. We have handed over our children to TVs and computers as babysitters. We are not investing for “growth” our home values have shriveled, and now, our government, those companies, and we… are feeling the damage and concussions of those explosions. Boom.

We won the war.
